Volunteers from Weed Man Ottawa Care for Beechwood Cemetery for Remembrance Day

On Friday, October 25, 2024, volunteers from the local Weed Man Ottawa lent their talents to tending Beechwood Cemetery, the national cemetery of Canada. The volunteers cleared leaves, fertilized the grass, and gave special care to the historic resting place of military heroes. Among the Weed Man volunteers were branch manager Michael Evans, Camryn Evans, Kareem Estaitieh, Dakotah Sim, and national technical director Chris Lemcke.

The 20th annual Day of Tribute event, presented by Landscape Ontario’s Ottawa Chapter, brought together volunteers from the green industry to honour Canadian armed forces members and veterans. The volunteers put in a hard day’s work in preparation for the upcoming Remembrance Day services on November 11, 2024.

Beechwood Cemetery’s director of marketing, communications, and community outreach, Nick McCarthy, expressed his gratitude for the event volunteers. "Each year, the community’s response reminds us of the lasting impact our veterans have on us all. Thank you to every volunteer who came together to make this day a true tribute to our Canadian Armed Forces members."
