Lawn care season has arrived! Unfortunately, the sunshine and warmer temperatures also mean that weeds are popping up everywhere. Weeds compete with desirable grasses for water, space, light and nutrients. They are very aggressive and can easily take over your lawn if not kept in check.
Weed Man is right on schedule to start weed control treatments in your area.
When the weed control treatment is applied, the weeds will begin to blacken and curl up within a matter of days. Two to three weeks following, most of your weeds will start to disappear. This will be our first visit, but rest assured, we will be back throughout the season to spot treat any remaining weeds.
Absolutely! Weeds, though pesky, are unfortunately a common reality. Even after a control treatment, weeds may sometimes continue to pop up sporadically. Worry not -- we will re-apply weed control at our regularly timed visits when necessary.
Why do I need to wait for the weeds to be present to treat them?
Weed control is a post-emergent service, meaning that they can only be treated once they have appeared in the lawn. At this time, there is no way to control weeds before they grow. If you see weeds emerging, don't pull them out! You can continue to mow your lawn as usual.
The best defence against weeds is a thick, lush, healthy lawn. If you have thin or bare spots in your lawn, you may want to consider overseeding to help your lawn defend itself against weeds.
