Hello Boston! Weed Man is Ready to Be Your Lawn Care MVPs This Spring!

For the people of Boston, April means Celtic playoff basketball, the Red Sox’s home opener, and the start of their neighborhood’s competition (official or otherwise) for best lawn. And now that Weed Man has opened their first Boston franchise, the real competition can begin!

“I think the market's gonna be awesome here,” said Jack Stranges, Branch Manager of Weed Man Boston. “I think it's gonna give homeowners a great option for lawn care.”

“People don't know who we are just yet. But we're happy to be here and introducing ourselves. because we know that we have such an excellent service. So it's just been really fun.”

The Lawn Care Game in Boston Just Heated Up

Like in many other areas, lawn care in Boston is often a competitive sport! Even if you don’t feel like you’re competing with your neighbors, they may feel like they’re competing with you. In fact, 76% of surveyed homeowners feel like they’re competing with their neighbor’s lawn. But only 23% feel like they’re winning!

The same survey found that respondents spent an average of $122 per month on their outdoor spaces, including lawn care. This is why Stranges believes Weed Man will thrive in a Boston market that doesn't have time for hidden costs.

“I think the biggest thing that I've noticed so far is that people are looking for a straight shooter more than anything,” said Stranges.

“I think the majority of people just want to have a great lawn and a company that's gonna work with them with great communication. That’s a point that's been emphasized by a lot of the customers that we have here.”

Proudly Local

Weed Man has over 220 franchises across the US and Canada. However, they take pride in the fact that they are locally owned and operated in over 1000 territories. This gives them a unique blend of the resources and expertise of an international network, while offering the individual attention of a family-run business.

Stranges is a recent Massachusetts transplant who will head up the Boston office after starting as a technician and successfully working his way up the Weed Man ladder. He hopes his journey shows his employees that this job comes with a future.

“I know how difficult it can be to come in at the technician level and understand that this is only the first level. I love my technicians knowing my story about how I got to where I'm at right now,”

“With the Weed Man company in general, especially here in New England, if you're looking to continue to develop as a person in your career here, you don't have to go too far to find an opportunity.”
