Last year, our customers donated over 2200 pounds of food in support of NorthWest Food Pantry. This year, we need your help in trying to do even more!
As part of our 2nd Annual Grassroots Giving food drive, Weed Man Grand Rapids is mobilizing our trucks and our technicians to collect donations from our customers throughout the fall season! From August 15th to October 1, 2025, during your regularly scheduled lawn care services, we encourage you to leave non-perishable food donations on your front porch, and we will take care of the rest!
From August 15th to October 1, 2025, we’re partnering with the NorthWest Food Pantry to collect donations of non-perishable food and household items, such as the following:
Cereal
Pop-Tarts
Instant Oatmeal
Peanut Butter
Canned Fruit
Canned soups
Canned chicken
Rice
Spaghetti Noodles
Ramen Noodles
Rice-A-Roni
Hamburger Helper
Sloppy Joe Sauce
Personal Care Items
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Laundry Soap Pods
Liquid Dish Soap
Liquid Hand Soap
Shampoo
Conditioner
Soap
Bodywash
Toilet Paper
Deodorant
Paper Towel
Razors
Shaving Cream
This cause has never been more important, as 1 in 8 households in the United States are currently facing food insecurity, while 1 in 5 Canadian families don’t have sufficient access to quality food and other basic needs.
Donating is easy!
The day before your next lawn care application during our Grassroots Giving campaign, you will receive a text or email reminder about your next service.
During our visit, simply leave any food items for donation outside your front door (preferably in a box or bag).
Your Weed Man technician will collect all items while they are there to complete your service.
All donations will benefit our friends at the NorthWest Food Pantry!
If you have any questions about what the most requested donation items are for local families, or about what is/isn’t permissible for donation, just reach out to us at brendar@devrieslandscape.com.
Last year, the entire Weed Man fleet (both US and Canada) combined to collect over 76,000 pounds of food (the equivalent of 64,000 meals) across North America. And we need your help to do more this year!
We hope you’ll join us in the fight against food insecurity in our community!
